Background

A decade of building things that have to work.

Paxton Harmon has spent more than a decade building digital operations across corporate, consulting, and political work. The industries differ. The standard does not: build something that produces a measurable result, then be accountable for the number it produces.

The majority of that career was spent inside some of the most prominent marketing agencies in the country, on accounts where budgets were large, timelines were fixed, and the reporting was unforgiving. That is where the standards came from, and they are the same ones applied to a project of any size here.

A great deal of that work happened against deadlines that do not move. Campaigns end on a fixed date. Fundraising targets are either hit or missed. Rapid response either goes out inside the hour or it may as well not exist. That environment enforces a particular discipline. Build fast, build it correctly the first time, and measure everything. It is also unforgiving of the habits that pass for normal in a lot of agency work.

Centurion Media Group applies that discipline to business. The work looks nothing like a campaign, but the standard is identical. A website is not a brochure. It is infrastructure that either brings in business or does not.

Paxton is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Political Science.

Craft

Every site is designed before it is built.

Nothing here begins from a theme or a component library. Every project starts on a blank page and is drawn, laid out, and typeset for the specific business it belongs to, including full brand identity work when a business does not yet have one.

Art direction, typography, color, and the hundred small decisions that separate a site which looks considered from one that looks ordered are all handled in house. The Centurion Strategies identity and its C-mark were built the same way, from a blank page to a finished system.

The instinct in this work is always to add. Most of the skill is knowing what to leave out. That is a harder thing to sell than a long list of features, and it is the difference between a site that impresses the client and one that persuades their customers.

Why It Matters

What that background actually buys you

  • Design and build under one roof. Brand, art direction, development, search, and paid media are handled by the same team, so nothing gets diluted in the handoff between a designer and whoever implements it.
  • Accountability for outcomes. He has raised tens of millions of dollars and built digital programs from scratch in environments where performance was reviewed daily and there was nowhere to hide a bad week.
  • Speed under real pressure. Rapid-response operations built for organizations where a two-week turnaround is not slow, it is a failure.
  • Work that survives scrutiny. Advocacy and political clients get read closely by people actively looking for a mistake. That standard does not switch off for commercial work.
  • Direct access, permanently. One point of contact from the first call through launch and beyond, with senior people on the work the whole way. No account layer standing between you and the build.
